Wow. I fail so hard...

I totally forgot all about this meme all weekend. In my defense, it was because I was marathoning Vampire Diaries with

psiten, who hadn't seen it before, making it totally in a worthy cause? And yet still. Even adorable pouty psychotic vampires should not so distract me from my course of action. I am shamed.

So, for... last Friday's entry... I was supposed to do a time travel fic. Being that I read crap tons of Doctor Who fic, that is, of course, pretty easy to find. I did think about taking the time to scare up the link to something less obvious, but my clock informs me that I have only ten minutes left before I am even more days late on this, so I will just go with my first instinct.

That would be the fabulous Double Crossing by

jessalrynn, a fic where Ten and Rose go to a Star Trek convention to Thwart Evil, and there bump into Seven and Ace, there to thwart totally other Evil. Many wacky hijinks ensue, as is only right.

This is perhaps not "time travel" in the sense that the trope is normally applied to fic-- it's more the past and present intersecting and running parallel for a bit, really, however. It is one of the most delightfully charming things I've ever read, and it's just so much fun. Ten and Rose are adorable, As Is Their Wont, Ace is amused, as she has every right to be, and Seven is just perplexed. One gets the impression that he had not previously imagined that he'd spend his future absolutely and totally gone on a twentieth century human teenager.

I have a serious weakness both for fics where Rose meets earlier versions of the Doctor, and for fics with multiple Doctors in, and this is one of my all time favorites in both of those categories.
