sumeria: We who fly must know our place (Sakujun)
So this year, [livejournal.com profile] psiten and I are going to Otakon, where we will have a table in the artist's alley. Somehow, I thought I still had about two months to try to get pieces together, but a helpful consultation with Ye Olde Calender reveals to me that it's more "one". Oops.

One month to go, and I have... four pieces ready. -_-
This is pathetic.

So in five weeks, I must:

  1. finish portrait of Hera (doable)
  2. ink and color at least the first three of our Naruto tarot set (also doable)
  3. ink and color five Prince of Tennis chibis (should be doable)
  4. get at least two of my older drawings correctly formatted and cleaned up to make prints of (doable, I hope)
  5. start and finish portrait of Helios (in my dreams)
  6. get any other older drawings in suitable state to make prints of (ha!)
...I am doomed.

I wonder if I even spelled that right? I find I can't be bothered to check. Oh well.

But a largeish contributing factor to deciding to actually take the time to create a lj was to have some place to post fan art. Obviously, there are in fact sites dedicated to just that, but I think I may have exactly enough inniative to keep up with one online community, and this one is more multipurpose.

That said, I'm not sure I have these scanned at a good resolution, so this is at least half test. I do be one of those weird traditionalists who still does art mostly on paper, and knows almost naught of digital manipulation thereof.

But in any case: the first piece of actual fan art I ever did.

under cut )

(My major original project has the disadvantage of being too big for my scanner; I need to find somewhere to deal with that.) Vincent of FFVII, I hope obviously. The background was going to have more variation in it, but... eh. There was a critical color failure, and black was the only real solution I could see.
