Well, deciding who was easy, deciding which was hard.

My favorite author really has to be

psiten. We've been friends for years, and I've beta'd every piece of fic she's written since college, unless I'm deeply mistaken. This is only fair, because the last time we counted up all her works in progress, I think slightly better than half of them were being written either for me, or because I threw plot bunnies at her and refused to stop until she was infected. What can I say, I'm an enabler. And some day, all of you who never knew you wanted to read a massive Naruto AU set at a rock conservatory will thank me. Most of her fics are for anime fandoms, and by "most" I mean "all", with the exception of a Girl Genius fic that I made her write because there was seriously no Agatha/Gilgamesh fic on the internet at all, and what was that about? and a short Dean/Cas Supernatural fic that is totally only, like, half my fault.

I had a hard time narrowing down which of her fics to rec here, and in the end, I find I am forced to fall back on my old standby: "refusing to choose".

The first piece of fic that she wrote which can be accurately described as "mostly my fault" is Rules which is Prince of Tennis fic about the epic romance of Atobe and Ryouma. You may scoff, but it works better than you imagine, and it is side-splittingly hilarious as well. Also completely in character, which, let me tell you, is harder than it looks. This fic is awesome, and if you've seen even one episode of Prince of Tennis, you really do owe it to yourself to read this one. And then her legion of other fics for other pairings set in this 'verse, cause dude, they are all kind of awesome.

The most recent piece of fic that she's working on, best described as "probably entirely my fault, and I'd say that I'm sorry, but I'd be lying" is The Butterfly Effect, a Naruto AU fic. Well, I say AU, but I don't mean that everyone's firefighters or highschool students or something. It's set in the same universe as canon!Naruto, but here, there was one little thing that went differently some twenty-odd years before the series takes place. This fic is about the repercussions of that. And also it is about how omg!adorable it would be if Itachi was buying ice cream for his baby brother and his baby brother's best friend. I will not lie: it is pretty extremely adorable. And without ever loosing that special edge of brutality that makes it feel real. This fic is spectacular, and will only get better.

But really, I think everything she's written is awesome, and you all should totally check it out.
